This policy explains how Voltera collects and uses personal data when you visit voltera.ie or buy from our online shop at voltera.ie/shop.
Voltera is a trading name of HLR Machinery Ltd, which is the data controller for this website.
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We use this to keep the website secure and working properly (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
Our contact form is provided by Google Forms (Google Ireland Limited), which processes your entries on our behalf. If you contact us through the form or by email, we use your name, email address and message to reply to you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f)). We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
When you place an order, we collect your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number and order details so that we can process, deliver and support your order (performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We keep order and invoice records for six years to meet Irish tax and company law requirements (legal obligation, GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)). Card payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland), which receives your payment details directly. We do not see or store your full card details. See stripe.com/ie/privacy.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors find us and which device and approximate location (country or city) they use. This helps us improve the website and our products.
Google Analytics only runs if you click "Yes, I agree" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject all use of data", no analytics cookies are set. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy Regulations, S.I. 336/2011). You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies for voltera.ie, after which the banner will appear again.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. GA4 sets the cookies _ga and _ga_TH8QTH4QKZ, which normally expire after up to two years. GA4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Some data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We have accepted Google's data processing terms. Our website and shop also use strictly necessary cookies, for example to remember your cookie choice and the contents of your shopping cart. These do not require consent.
Our website may show videos hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). When you play a video, YouTube may set cookies and receive data about your visit under its own privacy policy. Links to our Facebook and Instagram pages are simple links; Meta only receives data if you click through to their sites.
We only share personal data where needed to run our business: our website hosting and website builder providers, Stripe (payments), Google Forms (contact form), delivery couriers (for orders), Google (for analytics, if you consent), and our accountants or public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@voltera.ie. We will reply within one month.
